Tameside Armed Services Community (TASC)
TASC is the partner to Tameside MBC in delivering the Armed Forces Covenant.
The Covenant was signed by Tameside Council on Armed Forces Day 2012. It is a national commitment which aims to ensure that the men and women of the services and those who are ex services are not disadvantaged by their service.
TASC is a group formed from the ex-services community, with links to service charities, council staff and elected member support. It is a constituted organisation with an agenda and action plan around delivering the Covenant principles whilst looking to engage the wider community in awareness and a
range of activities.
TASC is for:
• Serving personnel
• Ex services men and women
• Reservists
• Cadets
• Community groups
• Businesses
• “ Third sector” organisations who support the community
• Individuals who have an interest in the Services
(e.g.heritage).
Manor House Surgery are working on identifying which of our patients are ex-service personnel. Doing so helps to ensure that ex-Armed Forces personnel are able to access specific ex-service personnel’s health services and receive any priority treatment that they may be entitled to. If you are an ex service personnel please inform a member of our reception team.
